HELLO MINNA!!! I've been busy with this darn mag Im working on. Got very tight deadlines and still a looooot of stuff to do. Actually, been going home at midnight these past few days just to finish on some stuff. I dont know, Im such a nocturnal person myself that I am more productive at nights when it is quiet and I have the whole office by myself coz in the morning, I would have to put on my earphones and put my itunes in full blast just to concentrate (that sounded so contradictory to how I am in the pm ^_^) I've been wanting to update but right now, my thoughts are splattered everywhere so let me just organize them when Im through with tis project. v-day story

Psyche was the youngest daughter of a king (incidentally, she had two older sisters). Psyche was so stunningly beautiful that her appearance rivaled that of a goddess. Indeed, the simple people of her county were so in awe of Psyche's grace and beauty that they stopped worshipping Aphrodite and paid their honors instead to the daughter of a king. In her defense, it should be noted that Psyche was a modest girl, and she resisted this improper attention. However, the damage had been done. Aphrodite took notice of this insult of being overthrown in popularity by a mere mortal, so the goddess decided to punish her rival. And her punishment was swift and severe. Aphrodite commanded her son Eros to do her dirty work in this situation, and insisted that Eros use his powers as the god of desire to make Psyche fall in love with the most terrible and grotesque thing on earth.

As fate would have it, Eros fell victim to Psyche's beauty himself. He simply could not resist her charms. However, loving the mortal girl meant disobeying his powerful mother and making Aphrodite angry - and no one wants to anger a goddess. But Love will find a way...

Eros thought of a cunning plan to win Psyche for himself while keeping his mother Aphrodite ignorant of his actions. The god of love and desire arranged to have Psyche brought to a desolate area. Here, the innocent girl was told, she would become the bride of an evil being. Psyche waited for her doom dressed in a wedding gown. In time, Zephyrus led her gently into a valley in which a majestic and grand palace dominated the landscape. The girl was awed by the magical palace, but she soon found that this place was her new home.

Clever Eros then came to Psyche when she had gone to bed that night. The bedroom was dark --- too dark to see anything --- when the god of love entered. Eros used the darkness to his advantage in order to conceal his identity from the girl. He whispered in Psyche's ear that he was her husband and that she must not under any circumstances look upon him or seek to know who he was.

Psyche enjoyed her life with her unseen husband, but for one minor detail --- she came to feel isolated and homesick. She begged to see her sisters. Although Eros did not want to comply, he could not deny his beloved anything. So Psyche's sisters were invited to the palace. Once there, they saw the grand lifestyle of their younger sister and quickly became jealous of Psyche's good fortune. Together the pair of sisters persuaded Psyche that her husband was dangerous and that she must rid herself of him immediately. And Psyche, innocent and trusting girl that she was, believed the horrible stories told by her sisters.

When she next went to bed, Psyche took with her a lamp, which she lit when she was assured her husband was asleep. When Psyche gazed upon the god, however, she was stunned by the grace and perfection of his divine features - he was definitely no monster! In her surprise she let a drop of oil fall from the lamp, and this woke Eros. Realizing what had happened, Eros immediately departed.

Psyche was beside herself with grief. She was now alone and abandoned by her husband. She searched for her lost love, but could not find him anywhere. In desperation Psyche asked the goddesses Demeter and Hera for assistance, but neither goddess was willing to risk the wrath of Aphrodite. So finally, left with no other options, Psyche went to see Aphrodite herself.

Aphrodite decided to punish the girl a bit more. Psyche - the daughter of a king - was made into a slave by the goddess of love. And indeed, Aphrodite added insult to injury by requiring Psyche to perform tasks that seemed impossible. For example, Psyche had to sort, grain by grain, an entire room full of seeds in the span of a single day. This task might well have been impossible if it had not been for the help of some industrious ants - with their assistance, Psyche achieved her goal.

One other fiendishly devious task assigned by Aphrodite was that Psyche must fetch a jar that contained beauty from Persephone. Now, Persephone was the Queen of the Underworld, which meant that (at least part of the year) she lived and ruled in the gloomy realm of the dead. Naturally, Psyche despaired of accomplishing this goal. But in the end, she was given instructions on how to descend to the Underworld while still alive and approach Persephone.

In the meantime, Eros suffered from the separation from his beloved as well. He finally went to Zeus to beg for mercy. Zeus listened to the story that Eros told, and decided to grant the god of love's wish - that the couple should be reunited and joined in marriage. And this is exactly what happened. In the end, Eros and Psyche were allowed to be together and Aphrodite gave up her anger in order to welcome her new daughter-in-law into the family (big fat goodluck to Psyche! hehehe)


MORALS OF THIS STORY :

• Never get into a relationship with a mama's boy coz if you do, great ordeals will come your way. It's not bad to have someone who loves his parents but to have someone who have no spine is a different thing. See, if Eros had the guts to stand up for Psyche, they could have lived happily from the very start and skipped on all the drama *tsk*
  


• Don't stay in the dark too long or you'll be taken advantage of (of course, unless you want to be taken advantage of ^_~). Of course, you can choose whether to be in the dark or be in the know. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss but know when the other times aren't gonna give you that. Psyche chose to live with an unseen husband. What if Eros was really some hideous monster?! It'll be bad for the children (bad genes XD)
  


• Try to stay away from people who wish nothing but your downfall. It would be a pity to even call them 'friends'. Or in the case of Psyche, 'family'.
  


• Perseverance yields good results as always. So if you wanted to sort a room full of grains, get your mind to it and stay focus and no breaktime if you only have a day! Of course it helps to....
  


• Be nice to everyone ( or everything ). You'll never know when you might need their help like the ants are to Psyche. Imagine if she crushed them with a single *swat* of hand, who would have helped her sort all the grains in the room??! She couldn't even call onto the Gods for that ^_^
  


• If things didn't go well with the Aphrodite, don't despair. You can still appeal to the Zeuses *wink* (Eros should have come to Zeus in the first place...)
  


• There are no kings and princesses in love. Love humbles everyone.... awwwwwwwww

Who would have thought that this single mythological story could whip up a lot of food for thoughts huh?! Oh well....

Just my observation >>> IS EVERYBODY GOING 'BLUR' THESE DAYS OR IM JUST LACKING FOLIC ACID, THIAMIN and VIT B12 in my DIET?!? O.o

I mean the other day, I tied my shoelaces with my computer's chord. Good thing, I wasn't rushing out to go anywhere or I would be nursing a broken jaw now. Then, my sister SMS-ed me 3x to get her this poster paint she needed for school and even SMS-ed me for the 4th time to remind me that if I cant get it, atleast I should SMS her back so somebody else would but I didn't do a thing (for this, I hate myself... *whacks self*) that she panicked when I got home empty-handed. Then another recent time, my boss was looking for this set of proofs which went *poof* that we've talked back and forth with the AEs and production staff kinda pressing them to produce it coz those were the only proofs signed by the client. I told my boss that I dont have it with me and to my total embarassment, I found them at the end of the day, neatly stashed in my drawer. I was even too blur not to know what it was at first. You could imagine how sheepishly I turned up infront of my boss holding those rolled proofs behind my back. Honestly, I was so tempted to put them on somebody else's table and pretend to have seen them from there but I cant just give such a nasty lie. Id know Id *gulp* and *twitch* and Id be found out lying coz I am not really good at it. A big liability specially at these rather compromising moments hehehe I knew I should have taken good acting lessons when I was younger XD Anyways, good thing that my boss wasnt in a bad mood that day that she just gave me a wry smile which I returned with a very wide, wide, toothy, puppy-dog eyed ehe, ehe, ehe... thank GOD for my charms (and my strong unwavering faith in myself that I believe I even have THAT hahaha).

So fine, I promised to take my Centrum + supplements daily which I have been skippin these days. Yes, sometimes I really get THAT lazy. I will even try to come home early and take some good rest too. Must be that my insomnia is back again. Thanks to 'NOBUTA WO PRODUCE', 'HYD', 'PPOI' which I doramarathon-ed for the past nights.... *tsk* *tsk* (and Im def NOT blaming you SANN, RINA v(^_^)v I take sole responsibility for this XDDD) Speaking of which, just look at how cute Tackey is on PPOI >>>

Doesn't he look the perfect bird's nest entertaining host with his hair up like that...erm, I do that to my bangs too. Only, I dont walk around the neighborhood in broad daylight like that of course or the maya birds will start flocking and start laying eggs on my pulled up hair thinking Im one of Treebeard's kins.... aaaah *baka*! Oh VENUS season has just passed but it is still continuously hitting the Oricon charts on the top 5 list. I am so happy for Tackey and Tsubasa that this is once again a very successful single. Here are what some non-TxT fandom critics (a.k.a friends and family) say:

I have never been fond of gameshows. They give the people false hopes and make them believe that they could just get rich so easily without sweating it out. Call me killjoy. Call me an anti-believer in luck (atleast on this aspect) but Im not gonna waste any more of my time watching these local shows with a group of gyrating young ladies while the hosts in their maka-masa tone of voice make a big fuss over handing cash to weeping millionaire-wannabes. True, times are hard these days. True, there were a lot of people who don't get much as they deserve. True that there are such prejudices in the world. And me in my comforts am only too glad and thankful for being where I am. I admit that Im being too idealistic when I say that it is better to enjoy the money one has toiled for than money that just falls on one's lap but in all honesty, Im sure to think twice about this if someone offers me millions upfront. Well, you cant turn deaf to the reality that money DOES make the world go round. And last Saturday it did just that and it caused 70+ Filipino lives.

I was on my way to Shang to meet up with friends when I heard what happened on TV. There was a stampede at Ultra around 6am when the people queued (or more of pushed and rushed) in line to get in for the 1st anniversary special of a local gameshow, 'WOWOWEE'. It was shocking to hear of the total number of casualties since its just a single event. I didn't know that hordes of people will be trooping to take part on that show. Some even came from far-away provinces. From what I read, some even came earlier as Wednesday and camped out for this chance of a lifetime. It may be a question on security measures. May also be a question of plain discipline but when you have about tens of thousands hungry, tired people waiting in line for days hoping for a shot of luck, the program should have prepared better for this. Somehow the weeping show's host asking for forgiveness on cam didn't make up even for a single life lost. He said that the program will still continue and so it will but those who have lost their loved ones on this just wouldn't know where to start picking up their lives again. They went there in hopes to better their lives only to go back with more tragedy.

It is a sad reality as I believe people will still continue going and patronizing the show despite it all. People would still take their chance at it. I hope though that some of them learned from this and think that we shouldn't just rely on fast cash. Look what greed has brought us to...

chit chat charoooo

Been having a lot of 'reality talks' with my girlfriends these past few days. I dont know if it is because of recent events or that's just we're already at the stage where the next phase would be to get married and make babies. Seriously though, my friends has been contemplating on these matters on their own while I am still so much wading with glee in my singlehood and well, fandomworld. Right now, I can safely say that I am gazillions away from such reality that sometimes I feel either I was born in another parallel universe or I AM JUST PLAIN WEIRD. My night cap with Armi + dinner with Erly and Jen a few nights before made me momentarily think (yes, my logical mind just got churning *lol*) about the future. I know of women who panic and have the urgency to get theirselves infront of the altar despite of the groom coz they have this biological clock ticking and its ringing so hard in their heads that they make haste decisions of practically dragging men to the altar. I can only pray that they'd never wished to be dragged out of what they're getting theirselves into now. It is not an easy task to grow a family coz as what Jen would always say, "...can you imagine somebody depending on you for his/her existence on the next 20 years???". (Jen, rub it in and I might not just get married XD). I hope im not sounding too pessimistic? Well, lets put it this way, if something or someone is meant to come to you in this lifetime, it'll come by all means (TAKE NOTE MEL! More *whacks* for you?! naaahhh, of course not *chu* XD). Hopefully when it comes, you will be ready for it coz if you're not it'll be a complete waste of serendipitous opportunity. An almost hit of 1 out of a 1000. One which would really, really make you sulk in the corner and weep while you pull each of your hairstrands out. Eeeouch!!! So prepare and make yourself better in the process. Hopefully, the other party is doing the same.

On a lighter side of things, I was asked not once, not twice, not thrice so on and so forth (XD) what I'd do if that person I was waiting for in RL isn't anywhere near my *ahem* Takizawa standards coz my friends think he is such a tall order (not talkin' about the height though XD XD XD). I only am left to say this to satisfy their curiosities, if it happens it happens. But honestly, of course, it would bring me so much joy if he turns out to be anywhere close to Tackey hahahahaha (Please LORD, make this happen so I wouldn't have to pull my hairstrands out hehehe)
